Halfway Done!
Tenaciousness is a competency.
Since I am a full time student, I’ve been working on a balanced schedule. I’m still nt 100% on following the schedule but I have managed. For this class, I devoted one entire day to this course. I watch all the lectures of the week, and complete my assignments. I’ve developed a mindset to find a problem, the root of the problem then figure out what has caused this problem. I don’t immediately try to find a fix to a problem. I also make sure to do work that’ll interest me so I will be determined .
Tenaciousness is also about attitude
Two weeks ago I had 2 exams for two different courses and three assignments due for this course. I was stressed out trying to study for my exams and I was completely overwhelmed with the assignments for this class. I truly wanted to just not do any assignments for this class because I felt like I didn’t have enough time. I took a minute to try to recollect myself and decided to worry about the exams and figure out way to do the assignments afterwards. I took the exams and spent an entire night before the assignment due dates and completed all three. What pulled me through was the fact that I was so into my assignment and felt like I needed to do this so everyone else can see my work. Also, I wanted to make sure my group is able to make peer reviews. I did develop a determined attitude. I was determined to study, take my exams, and complete my assignments.
My dad always told me “Nicole if you do half the stuff I ask you to do, don’t do any of it and just take a butt beating. Do all of it and you won’t get any beating.”
Three tips.
- Don’t give up.
- Always do work that is passionate and it’ll never feel like hard work or busy work.
- Manage. Follow the CANVAS schedule or create a schedule that’ll help you balance course work.
Hey Nicole,
ReplyDeleteDetermination is an important part of this course. It's easy to find something you can write about well, but something that you can put passion behind is difficult. I've been in the mindset before where I felt like I had to skip assignments when I was overwhelmed with exams, but in a similar fashion I studied what I needed to and powered through the three assignments in one night. I appreciate your mindset of wanting to post so that other people can comment on it, I think everyone posting the content they need to keep the class morale high. Great post!
Hi Nicole,
ReplyDeleteI like how you talked about balance being very important because that is what I wrote all about in my blog. Balancing your life with school, activities, and fun is important. Doing work that interests you is important because it will keep you motivated and determined. One of the reasons I took this class is because I am very interested in entrepreneurship. My interest keeps me determined to complete all the assignments due in the class.
Hi Nicole,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that making a schedule and sticking to it really is a way to stay on track with this class, as well as other aspects of life. Remaining passionate about what work you're completing is also another great tip. It's easy to just fulfill the basic requirements but it also becomes a chore that you have to complete. Being invested in your work, in other ways than just a grade, will ensure that your work is of much better quality! Thanks for your tips!
